Celebrate winter on the water with our unique evening guided tour

Hobart’s working waterfront is vibrant by day, and majestic by night. As the city descends into darkness we’ll be taking to the water to experience Hobart in its full winter glory.

Our exclusive evening tour kicks off from Short Beach, Marieville Esplanade in Sandy Bay at sunset. We’ll glide past the historic Battery Point, cross the Sydney to Hobart race’s finish line, and head to Constitution Dock.

As the evening sets in, you’ll see the waterfront of Hobart come alive. At Constitution Dock, enjoy a flaming hot chocolate and delicious local treats, soaking in the festival vibes and the waterfront’s storied ambiance as dusk turns to night.

This paddle offers a one-of-a-kind glimpse into Nipaluna/Hobart, with the calm winter evenings providing the ideal backdrop for our journey. On a clear night, don’t miss the chance to star gaze – Tasmania’s clear night skies are among the best for it.

Our experienced local guides will lead the way, highlighting points of interest and sharing local stories throughout the tour.

Client review

5/5 This was an awesome experience! Highly recommended!!!
We met Toby Story, guide and owner of SSV, at Sandy Bay where he walked us through the gear, kayaks and safety. My main concern was feeling cold on the water but I shouldn’t have worried. Toby had it all covered. We were supplied with spray jackets, pants and water proof gloves ( Poggies) and a skirt that protects you from any splashes. Once we reached Hobart harbour we were treated to a hot chocolate with roasted marshmallows and a drop of Hobart rum under the fire stacks of the winter feast. It was an amazing way to see the Dark Mofo from the water. Highly recommend !!!
