TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The “Win a Journey of a Lifetime to Antarctica!” Competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and alignment with the Southern Sea Ventures brand.
PROMOTER: The promoter is Southern Sea Ventures (ABN 51 641 510 269) of PO Box 2192 Lower Sandy Bay, Tasmania (Promoter).
COMPETITION PERIOD: The Competition commences at 12:40pm AEST on 7 July 2023 and ends at 11:59pm AEST on 6 August 2023 (Competition Period). No entry details submitted after this time will be valid.
ENTRY ELIGIBILITY: The competition entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older and excludes employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, anyone connected professionally with the prize draw, or any person where entering this competition breaches any law or regulation of the jurisdiction in which they are resident. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. Only one entry per person will be available (Eligible Entrant).
ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: To enter, individuals must complete the following during the Competition Period: Visit southernseaventures.com/win-antarctic-expedition-cruise; Describe in 50 words or less why you want to celebrate Christmas and New Year in Antarctica; Submit your first and last name, phone number and email. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid. Entries that have been altered, reconstructed or tampered with will be rejected. Entrants may only enter the competition once per email address.
EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION: By entering this competition, entrants agree to be added to the Southern Sea Ventures email list and to receive promotional and marketing materials from Southern Sea Ventures. Entrants can opt out of this subscription at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the emails.
THE PRIZE: The prize winner will receive: Two berths in a single twin share cabin on the Southern Sea Ventures Antarctic Expedition Cruise (20 December 2023 to 1 January 2024) aboard the Polar Pioneer, starting and ending in Ushuaia, Argentina. The total value of the prize is to a maximum value of $38,952 AUD. The winner will be subject to all standard booking terms and conditions for the trip aboard the Polar Pioneer in order to participate on the cruise. The prize is not transferable to any other person, must be applied to the specific voyage listed above and is not redeemable for cash.
INCLUSIONS: The total prize value covers: hotel accommodation (twin share) in Ushuaia, transfer from hotel to ship, transfer from ship to airport in Ushuaia at the end of the trip, eight nights ship accommodation (twin share, shared bathroom cabin) – all public areas are open to all passengers, all meals on board ship, a welcome toast and captain’s drinks, all shore excursions from the ship including Zodiacs, lectures, videos, slide and film shows, expedition guide services, port taxes and port charges imposed by government authorities, medical services if required on-board; tips on board for crew and service personnel. Upgrades to different cabin types are possible depending on availability and at an additional cost. All inclusions are chosen and supplied by Southern Sea Ventures as part of the prize package. Any modifications to the listed inclusions may incur additional fees and or charges.
EXCLUSIONS: The prize does not include: flights to and from Ushuaia, Argentina; single supplements; visa, passport and vaccination charges and airport departure taxes; hotels and meals not included in the voyage itinerary; optional excursions not included in voyage itinerary; laundry, personal clothing, medical expenses, personal travel insurance and items of a personal nature such as bar charges and phone/email charges; emergency evacuation charges; alcohol unless specified; optional extra skiing or kayaking activity packages (these can be purchased at an additional cost by the winner if desired).
PRIZE DRAW: The draw will take place at 12:00pm AEST on 7 August 2023 (Prize Draw Date). The winner will be notified in writing by email submitted at the time of entry. If no response is received by the Promoter within 14 days, the prize will be deemed as unclaimed and a redraw will be held on 21 August 2023. If by 4 September 2023 the prize is still unclaimed, this prize will be forfeited.
COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: Personal Information including the Eligible Entrant’s name, address, telephone number and email will be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Competition. This may require disclosure to third parties, including the Promoter’s agents or third-party service providers, for the purpose of conducting the Competition. Please see the Promoter’s privacy policy for more information about how we use your personal information.

GENERAL: The Promoter and its affiliates reserve the right to amend or withdraw the prize draw and any of the prizes in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside their reasonable control. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
