Kayak Camping with Southern Sea Ventures offers guided multi day sea kayaking expeditions that combine coastal paddling with remote beach camping. These self contained journeys allow you to travel by kayak carrying essential gear to secluded beaches and island campsites far from roads and crowds.

Meals

Meals are an important part of the expedition experience. After a full day on the water, evenings are spent relaxing in camp and sharing food while discussing the day’s adventures.

You may be surprised at the quality and variety of meals prepared in camp by our guides, who are skilled at creating satisfying food even in remote locations.

Paddling

Southern Sea Ventures provides a fleet of single and double sea kayaks across all camping expeditions. The use of single kayaks is determined by guide discretion and depends on weather conditions, paddling ability and group composition.

Spray skirts, life vests and adjustable paddles are provided along with other essential safety equipment.

Sleeping

Accommodation on kayak camping expeditions is primarily in two person tents. Tents are screened for ventilation and protection and in most destinations we provide full length sleeping mats.

Single tent supplements can be requested where available.

Local Knowledge and interpretation

Our local operations and partners ensure we know the hidden secrets in each destination. Guides share insights into local history, wildlife and ecosystems while travelling through each region.
