Journey to the Icy Edge of the Arctic

Svalbard translates to the cold edge in Old Norse and is one of the most remarkable destinations on Earth to experience Arctic wilderness.

The Svalbard archipelago lies between mainland Norway and the North Pole and is defined by dramatic mountains, glaciers and polar seas. Expedition cruises navigate fjords and pack ice while searching for wildlife and historic exploration sites.

Each day typically includes two guided excursions from the ship including Zodiac landings, wildlife observation and optional kayaking opportunities.

kayak plus

The Kayak Plus program is designed for enthusiastic paddlers seeking maximum time on the water. Participants receive dedicated kayaking equipment and priority placement on every paddle outing.

Guests can expect approximately six to ten kayaking excursions per voyage depending on weather and ice conditions.

Arctic Photography Program

Svalbard is one of the world’s premier destinations for wildlife and landscape photography. The Photography Tuition package led by professional photographer Paul Hoelen provides expert instruction throughout the expedition.

The program includes equipment advice, ongoing tuition and access to a dedicated photographers Zodiac.
