Svalbard Expedition Cruise: Photography Package
Capture the Arctic in all its glory.

why svalbard?
Perched high in the Arctic Circle, the Svalbard archipelago is a wild tapestry of rugged peaks, vast glaciers, spectacular fjords, and ever-shifting sea ice. This region is among the world’s premier destinations for wildlife encounters—think Polar Bears, walrus, Svalbard reindeer, whales, and Arctic foxes—amid some of the most dramatic scenery you’ll ever lay eyes on. It’s no wonder Svalbard is regarded as one of the globe’s greatest photographic frontiers.
Take Your Photography Further
For those looking to make the absolute most of every shot captured on our Svalbard Expedition Cruise, we offer an optional Photography Package led by landscape photographer Adam Monk and acclaimed Grand Master of Photography, Paul Hoelen. Join a small, dedicated group of image-makers and gain access to a photographer-only Zodiac, ensuring multiple excursions each day focused on capturing Svalbard’s breathtaking wildlife and landscapes.
Under Paul and Adam’s personal guidance, you’ll learn how to:
- Choose the right equipment and settings for a range of subject matter
- Adapt your technical and artistic approach to dynamic Arctic conditions
- Manage and protect your gear in extreme environments
- Refine your images with in-field feedback and dedicated review sessions
To set you up for success, you’ll have a pre-trip Q&A session to help you prepare for the journey—covering equipment needs, shooting techniques, and trip expectations. Following the expedition, you’ll also have a post-trip review for image feedback, post-production tips, and curation advice.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just beginning your photographic adventure, this package is designed to broaden your vision and empower you to create a portfolio of images that captures the true spirit of the Arctic.

testimonial
“Paul’s workshop was my first-ever landscape photography experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. I was initially apprehensive, but his warm encouragement immediately put me at ease. His deep knowledge of every location, combined with his willingness to share invaluable insights, made every moment a learning opportunity. Whether we were in the field or discussing techniques off-site, Paul’s guidance was always thoughtful, practical, and inspiring. This workshop didn’t just improve my skills—it ignited a passion for landscape photography that continues to grow. So much so, I’ve now signed up for several more with him!
