The “Win an Arctic adventure for two!” Competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and alignment with the Southern Sea Ventures brand.

PROMOTER: The promoter is Southern Sea Ventures (ABN 51 641 510 269) of PO Box 2192 Lower Sandy Bay, Tasmania (Promoter).

COMPETITION PERIOD: The Competition commences at 8am AEDT on 27 December 2023 and ends at 11.59 PM AEDT on 26 January 2024. No entry details submitted after this time will be valid.

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY: The competition entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older and excludes employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, anyone connected professionally with the prize draw, or any person where entering this competition breaches any law or regulation of the jurisdiction in which they are resident. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. Only one entry per person will be available (Eligible Entrant).

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: To enter, complete the form at southernseaventures.com/arctic-giveaway including an interesting fact about polar bears in 50 words or less. Submit your first and last name, phone number, home state and email. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid. Entries that have been altered, reconstructed or tampered with will be rejected. Entrants may only enter the competition once per email address.

EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION: By entering this competition, entrants agree to be added to the Southern Sea Ventures email list and to receive promotional and marketing materials from Southern Sea Ventures. Entrants can opt out of this subscription at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the emails.

THE PRIZE: The prize winner will receive: Two berths in a single twin share cabin on the Southern Sea Ventures Svalbard Expedition Expedition Cruise (7-17 June 2024) aboard the Polar Pioneer. The total value of the prize is to a maximum value of US$16,900. The winner will be subject to all standard booking terms and conditions for the trip aboard the Polar Pioneer in order to participate on the cruise. The prize is not transferable to any other person, must be applied to the specific voyage listed above and is not redeemable for cash.

If the Svalbard Expedition Cruise in 2024 is unable to proceed for reasons outlined in the Terms and Conditions an alternate trip will be offered to the winners of this competition, the alternate trip will be identified by Southern Sea Ventures.

INCLUSIONS:

• One night’s hotel accommodation in Longyearbyen (twin share).
• Transfers from hotel to ship (day 2) and from ship to airport in Longyearbyen (day 10).
• Nine nights’ ship accommodation (all public areas open to passengers).
• All meals on board ship.
• Welcome toast and captain’s drinks.
• Zodiac shore excursions from the ship.
• Lectures, videos, slide and film shows.
• Expedition guide services.
• Port taxes and port charges.
• Medical services (on-board clinic and doctor).

EXCLUSIONS:

• Flights (unless listed in the itinerary).
• Single supplements.
• Visa, passport, and vaccination charges.
• Airport departure taxes.
• Hotels and meals not included in the voyage itinerary.
• Optional excursions not included in the voyage itinerary.
• Laundry, personal clothing, medical expenses.
• Personal travel insurance and personal items (bar charges, phone/email charges).
• Tips for crew and service personnel.
• Emergency evacuation charges.
• Alcohol (unless specified).
• Additional cost activities (kayaking, photography).

SELECTION OF WINNER: Judging will occur between 28 January 2024 and 3 February 2024. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees.
