Just back from a fantastic family kayaking holiday around Bruny Island
Just back from a fantastic family kayaking holiday around Bruny Island. Toby and Dan were our guides, chefs and knowledgeable companions over the 4 days, each of which provided a totally different paddling experience. Not guaranteed, but the beautiful conditions persisted through the whole trip. We crossed the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and found refuge after battling a stiff headwind, we admired the isthmus and geological formations in Adventure Bay, and we felt the force of the Southern Ocean swell off Cloudy Bay. Highlights were tall cliffs (appreciated from above as well as below), narrow passages and surfing under the critical gaze of sea eagles. Our luxurious lodge on the shores of the lagoon was spacious, scenic and teeming with wildlife. All meals were absolutely delicious: prepared by our guide using the freshest local ingredients and accompanied by a selection of Tasmanian wines. Having done several paddling trips before in various locations overseas, we would highly recommend SSV to anyone wanting a superb multi-day paddling adventure with fabulous company, accommodation and food. We’re planning our next trip with SSV already…..

A trip of a lifetime
Did a 4 day Bruny Island sea kayaking trip with Toby & Heather in March. Absolutely brilliant, good equipment, good food, great lodgings and guides that definitely made sure we got to see a lot of Bruny island from the sea. Sea caves, giant kelp forests, salmon fisheries, deserted beaches and the immense power of the great southern ocean. Every night we were treated to sumptuous meals, fine wines / beers and engaging company. Highly recommended.
