Aboard the Heritage adventurer
Using small, expedition vessels we explore some of the most far flung locations in the world
The Heritage Adventurer
We are excited to announce we are teaming up with Heritage Expeditions to deliver a kayaking program aboard their flagship the Heritage Adventurer. Heritage Adventurer is a true pioneering expedition vessel of exceptional pedigree. Often referred to as the ‘Grande Dame of Polar Exploration’ due to her celebrated history and refined design, she was purpose built for adventure in 1991 at Finland’s Rauma shipyard and specifically designed for Polar exploration.
Setting a peerless standard in authentic expedition travel, Heritage Adventurer (formerly known as MS Hanseatic) combines the highest passenger ship ice class rating (1A Super) with an impressive history of Polar exploration. The Heritage Adventurer holds records for the most northern and southern Arctic and Antarctic navigations, and for traversing both the Northwest and Northeast Passages. Southern Sea Ventures and Heritage Expeditions have a long history of shared exploration having pioneered kayaking programs in the Russian Far East and the Sub-Antarctic Islands.
Originally designed to accommodate 184 guests, Heritage Adventurer now welcomes just 140 expeditioners ensuring spacious, stylish and comfortable voyages. She boasts a full fleet of 14 zodiacs and a sturdy fleet of kayaks perfectly suited to adventures from the Tropics to the Poles. Heritage Adventurer is the perfect platform for a luxurious adventure with the personalised, nature focussed experience that is the hallmark of the combined values of Heritage Expeditions and Southern Sea Ventures.
