The Wilds of New Guinea

11 day trip ~ Includes 8-9 days kayaking – Two Adventures in Paradise! ~ Grade: Easy to Moderate

Tropical exploration from our mother ship “Marina Svetaeva”. Two unique itineraries in the Bismarck Archipelago and eastern New Guinea.

Voyage 1 begins in Rabaul and cruises along the coast of New Britain before heading to the Sepik River and then SE past Tami Islands, Tufi and finishing at Alotau.

Voyage 2 begins in Alotau and cruises through the D’Entrecasteaux, Marshall Bennett and Trobiand Islands before striking out for New Britain and Duke Of York Islands and finishing at Rabaul. Primitive jungle, volcanoes, pristine coral reefs, exotic birds and one of the most culturally diverse areas on the planet. This is remote tropical paddling at its best, matched with underwater views overflowing with marine life!  Guest lecturer’s onboard help open our eyes to the “Wilds of New Guinea” so don’t miss out on these new and amazing adventures! 

Itinerary

Voyage 1: Rabaul to Alotau ~
DAY 1: Meet Rabaul. Board ship, depart New Britain coastline. Kayak briefing.
DAY 2-10: Day paddles as we cruise New Britain, Karkar Is., Sepik River, Bagabag & Tami Is., Lababia, Tufi, and Goodenough Island.
DAY 11: Disembark coastal town of Alotau.

Voyage 2: Alotau  to Rabaul ~        
DAY 1: Meet Alotau. Board ship, depart to Samari Is. Kayak briefing.
DAY 2-10: Day paddles as we cruise
D’Entrecasteaux Is., Egum Atoll, Woodlark Is., Marshall Bennett Is., Trobriand Is., New Britain, and Duke of York Is
DAY 11: Disembark coastal town of Rabaul.
